In Your Presentation Project, what worked?
I felt liked my biggest strength in my presentation was my slides. They were done very neatly and probably my greatest strength. My slides had a good amount of white space competing with the right amount of pictures. I felt that my slides added to the presentation and made it easier to follow rather than taking away.
What didn’t work?
I don’t feel like all of my information made sense together. I think it felt thrown together even when it wasn’t. My information wasn’t put together the best it could have been.
What did you learn from looking at presentations of your classmates?
One thing that I would like to point out that it is okay to make mistakes. Everyone had awkward pauses or “um’s”. This is something I had been kind of stressing out in the back of my head. Other than learning lots of fun information, I learned a little more on how to make presentations look professional and little tips and tricks to make yourself sound more like the real deal and sound very compelling.
What would you do differently next time?
There are a few different things that I would do next time. I spent what I felt was a good amount of time on my presentation and thinking about the key points of my presentation, but I know if I would have spent a little bit more time on it, it would have been that much better. I also feel like I would have wrote out word for word what I was going to say so I could think of what to say even more.
What did you learn that you might use in a professional career?
I learned a lot from this assignment, that I feel would help me in my professional career. I learned that people appreciate authentic. I listened to a few presentations that sounded like they were created by robots. Being authentic and genuine is so important, but it also so important to sound like you know what you’re doing.
